Tools are available in several variants for cutting of Cu and Al cable up to around Ø 85 mm. Besides the simplest mechanical tools that cut cable up to Ø 20 mm, there is a broad series of hydraulic tools for cable up to around Ø 85 mm. In addition to this, there is a new electric cutting tool PCT54C, for cutting cable up to around Ø 54 mm.
The size of conductor that the tools can handle mainly depends on what type of conductor is to be cut, i.e. if it is a low or medium voltage cable and if it is e.g. a solid class 1, flexible class 5 or stranded class 2 conductor. The hardness of the conductor's material also affects the results. For example, PCT54C can cut low voltage cable of type Cu FKKJ 4 x 95 mm2 or Al AKKJ 4 x 240 mm2 or medium voltage cable of type 12 kV Al type AXLJ 3 x 150 mm2. The insulation takes some space on the medium voltage cable, which is why it can be limiting.
For stripping insulation from cable, there are the Embla, Tor and Oden series that can strip from around 0.02 mm2 up to around Ø 40 mm cable. The tools are characterised by high precision, ergonomic adaptation, user friendliness and reliability.
For preparing medium voltage cable, 12-24 kV, and removal of conducting layers and PEX insulation, there are the tools FBS1722 and FBS1723.
Tool for cutting and stripping 0,02-16 mm² (EMBLA), 0,5-6 mm² (SCT001).
Tool for removing layer on PEX cable ø 10-50 mm, and stripping of XLPE insulation on medium voltage cable.
