Together, we keep Sweden moving
Behind every train travelling across Sweden lies an extensive network of maintenance, technical expertise and long-term commitment. One company playing a vital role in this work is Euromaint in Åmål. From large electric motors and transformers to advanced electronics, power systems and electrical connections, every component must perform reliably for decades in demanding environments. During our latest annual service visit, where Elpress technicians carry out calibration and maintenance of Elpress tools, we were also given the opportunity to tour Euromaint’s facility in Åmål. The visit was hosted by John Eriksson, Train Technician at Euromaint, who has worked within the organisation since 1989.

Over the years, John has worked across many areas of the business, particularly within train control and signalling systems. Today, his primary responsibilities include calibration, quality assurance and the management of measurement systems and instruments.
His work includes:
- Calibration of measuring instruments
- Management of Euromaint’s measurement equipment system
- Coordination with external calibration providers
- Procurement and repair of measuring instruments
- Spare parts management Fall protection and rescue training
At the Åmål facility, Euromaint works with the maintenance and refurbishment of:
- Transformers
- Large electric motors
- Railway systems
- Power electronics
- Converters Railway maintenance equipment
- Industrial machinery
It quickly became clear just how broad the operation is and how high the demands are when it comes to quality, competence and reliability.

Many of the systems serviced here have been operating for decades and continue to perform in critical infrastructure applications where reliability is essential.
“We keep old things alive.”
That simple statement during the tour captured the essence of the operation perfectly.

When quality and standards matter most
In environments where vibration, temperature fluctuations and high mechanical loads are part of everyday operation, every component and every electrical connection matters. During our visit, it became evident how important it is to work with quality-assured and approved system solutions.
Euromaint consistently works with:
- Calibrated tools
- Documented working procedures
- Verified processes
- Approved components
- Clear instructions and standards
The importance of using the correct tool together with the correct terminal was also highlighted, fully aligned with the philosophy behind System Elpress.
“You need a crimping tool that is designed for the terminal.”
It is not only about creating an electrical connection. It is about ensuring long-term safety, stable performance and minimising the risk of future failures in critical systems where trains must continue to operate safely and reliably.
Elpress in real-world service applications
Throughout the workshop, Elpress products could already be seen as a natural part of daily operations.
In several repair and transformer applications, Elpress KRF® tube terminals were being used as part of the electrical connection systems. We also had the opportunity to speak with Roger Kristoffersson, Train Technician at Euromaint.

In the workshop, we saw several transformers undergoing repair and refurbishment, an important part of ensuring continued operational reliability within Sweden’s railway network. In some of these applications, Elpress KRF® terminals had been installed as new components during maintenance activities.
Our conversation with Roger provided valuable insight into a working environment where quality, experience and dependable solutions are essential for keeping critical systems in operation.
This is where system thinking becomes particularly important.
System Elpress is built on the principle that:
- Tools
- Dies
- Terminals
- Conductors
are developed, tested and verified together as one complete system.
This creates the foundation for repeatable quality and secure electrical connections, even in demanding railway and industrial environments.
A partnership built on knowledge and support
The relationship between Elpress and Euromaint extends beyond products.
It is also built on knowledge sharing, technical support and an understanding of real-world applications. John Eriksson has previously visited the Elpress factory in Kramfors and participated in training programmes covering crimping technology and System Elpress through Elpress Academy.
When a need later arose for on-site training at Euromaint, Elpress was able to support that initiative.
“I attended your crimping tool training in Kramfors, and when we later needed training on-site, I contacted Elpress and you arranged it. You have also provided the spare parts we needed, and the support regarding new instruments has worked very well.”
The collaboration also includes support related to spare parts, tools and measuring equipment.
This type of long-term partnership becomes particularly valuable in operations where availability, documentation and reliability are essential parts of everyday business.

Together for the future of railway transportation
Railways are a vital part of society’s infrastructure. Behind every functioning system are people, expertise and solutions that passengers may never see, but which are essential for ensuring trains continue to operate safely and reliably.
For Elpress, the visit to Euromaint was a valuable opportunity to see how products, services and systems are used in real-world applications where quality, safety and long-term performance are critical every single day.
Representing Elpress during the visit were:
- Niklas Dahlberg, Service Technician and Team Leader, Elpress Service
- Sebastian Jonson, Sales Manager Sweden
- Beatrice Svala, Digital Marketing Communicator (Author of article)
The visit provided both new insights and valuable discussions about the future of maintenance, service and secure electrical connections within Swedish infrastructure.
The study visit provided both new insights and valuable discussions regarding the future of maintenance, servicing and safe electrical connections within Sweden’s infrastructure.
