Al terminals

We produce Al terminals of type AS and AK, but also largely customised terminals (also larger than 1200 mm²). The Elpress system fits both stranded conductors, as per IEC 60228 class 2, and solid conductors as per IEC 60228 class 1.

• Terminals of type AK or bimetal type AKK are used to terminate Al-conductors for connection to bus bars and apparatus outlets
• Through connectors of type AS are used for jointing of Al conductors
• Through connectors of type AKS are used for jointing of Cu conductors to Al conductors

Marking and number of crimps

In the use of sector shaped Al cable, one round crimping of the conductor is normally required, which is done with the round crimping tool. When crimping Al connectors, two crimps are always done. Al connectors are marked with logotype, conductor cross-sectional area for stranded and solid conductors and reference to round crimping tool and crimping tool in the Elpress product range.
When an adequate crimping is done with the right tool, Elpress’ dies makes an impression on the sleeve so that all connections can be checked afterwards.
In the tools, there is a built-in full closure system that ensures that the entire crimping process is completed – a prerequisite for professional and quality-assured work.
