At the beginning of last year, it became clear that Elpress was expanding its production in Kramfors, Sweden. Now, a year and a half later, 1,500 square meters of workshop space has taken up space and later this fall, construction is expected to be completed.
-It feels really good that we are expanding, which makes it possible for us to grow even more, it shows that there is a strong belief in the future, says Torbjörn Norell, Production Manager at Elpress.

Since the mid-1970s, Elpress has had its head office and production premises in Kramfors. At the beginning of last year, it became clear that Elpress is extending its lease and thereby expanding its production to be able to meet the future and its requirements.
-We have for some time now had a need to renew our surface treatment, partly for building technical reasons and from an environmental point of view. We will also have a logistically better placement of the surface treatment inside the factory, which in turn means that we reduce internal truck driving and get faster throughput of products, says Torbjörn
In one newly built premises, the new surface treatment takes place, and in the other premises, the toolmaking and assembly move in. This in turn creates more space in the existing premises to more machines for the future demand for bimetallic.
-We believe that the demand for bimetals will increase in connection with future electrification of society and thus we make more room for bimetals, we are in other words building for the future, says Torbjörn.

In addition to Elpress getting new premises which in turn contribute to a capacity increase, more machines and resources, Torbjörn also believes that the expansion is important from a work environment point of view.
-Today, many of the employees work in a fairly machine-intensive environment. Now we will have a completely pure machine hall with friction welds and CNC machines, and instead we will move more manual workplaces and quality controls to the new premises, which in turn means a calmer and quieter environment for these employees, says Torbjörn.
The new premises are expected to be ready later this fall and Torbjörn together with colleagues are looking forward to be moving in the new premises.
