We are proud to announce that Elpress has now published our third Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – this time for our bi-metal connectors AKK, AKP, AKS and SL. We already have EPDs for our C-sleeves and copper Terminals such as KRF, KRFS.
With the bi-metal connectors, we are now further complementing our portfolio and taking another step towards increased transparency and fact-based sustainability decisions.
The EPDs provide a verified and comparable basis for the product’s environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle. This makes it easier for our customers to work in a structured way with sustainability in both design, procurement and documentation.
Our bi-metal connections are designed for efficient material utilization through the combination of aluminum and copper, and are used in demanding applications where long service life, operational reliability and consistent quality are crucial.
The terminals for Cu conductors 0.75 mm² to 1000 mm² are made of copper 99.9%.
As a standard, we manufacture tube terminals (type KR/KRF/KRD/KRT), through connectors (type KS/KSF/KSD/KST) and C sleeves, but also largely customised connectors. The Elpress system fits both stranded conductors, as per IEC 60228 class 2, and flexible conductors as per IEC 60228 class 5 and class 6.
Elpress has a programme for overhead line joints that comprises products for copper lines, alloyed aluminium lines of type AlMgSi (Super B) and Al59 and FeAl lines.
