What is required in applications for Wind- and solar power?
We have a long experience in the wind power industry and our ambition is to provide qualified materials and knowledge for electrical connections. Over the years we have been working closely with manufactures of both wind- and solar power and its subcontractors. When working with applications in wind- and solar power and the like, there are numbers of different requirements to take into account. Together with our customers, we are developing products and solutions to meet specific requirements for applications in wind- and solar power as well as international standards:
Besides the requirements in electrical characteristics and current-carrying capacity, wind applications can also comprise high standards in terms of corrosion, vibrations and static loads.
For crimping of flexible copper conductors in KRF/KSF connections.
The technology has been developed to meet the needs of manufactures with high standards on applications in demanding environment where the connection, besides improved electrical reliability and durability, are also subjected to e.g. corrosions, vibrations and mechanical stress.
DUAL crimping process
Contact crimping with DUAL takes place in a two-step movement: First a hexagonal crimping that provides optimal symmetrical contact with the conductor’s outer wires, which means that no wires are broken or come apart in the edge facing the connector. This is followed by an indent crimp which compresses the inner wires and provides 30% better electrical stability compared to traditional hexagonal crimping
