System Elpress consists of terminals and tools that have been tested together to secure optimal performance. This ensures that you as a user will feel confident when using our systems, and that a secure connection is achieved through the proper handling of our products.
The smallest terminals we make are used in, for example, motors, fans, ovens, batteries, and the slightly larger models in switchgear power plants, wind turbines, signal boxes for trains, transformers and more. In order to splice a conductor that is suspended in the air at a power lane you use special over head line connectors that are available from our product range. The Elpress range for earthing is used if your facility needs deep earthing, such as a radio base station.
All the products you buy from Elpress are manufactured to very high quality standards, and production for the most part takes place at our own factory in Kramfors, Sweden. Investments in new technology and equipment means we are effective, flexible and can respond quickly. As a result we can meet your requirements for delivery reliability for standard products, special adaptations and even for new innovations.
Elpress copper connectors are made of pure copper 99.95%. We make tube terminals of type KR/KRF/KRD, through connectors of type KS/KSF/KSD for stranded conductors, IEC 60228 class 2, and flexible conductors IEC 60228 class 5 as well as C sleeves mainly for branching of Cu wires and many customised products.
For flexible and stranded Cu conductors, terminals of type KR/KRF and through connectors of type KS/KSF are used. Terminals of type KRD and through connectors of type KSD are normally used for stranded Cu conductors beginning at 500 mm2. Terminals of type KR/KRF/KRD are intended for max 47 kV and used mainly in termination to bus bars and apparatus of copper, while through connectors, of type KS/KSF/KSD, are used mainly in the jointing of copper conductors in cable assemblies. They can also be used for straight splicing of earth conductors. With a branching sleeve, type C, one splices and branches earth conductors, lightning conductor installations and the like. Elpress copper connectors of type KRF/KSF meet the requirements on corrosion as per DIN V40 046, part 37 and fulfil the requirements on vibration as per EN 50 155.
UL is a US standard that is also internationally accepted. Elpress standard Cu terminals of type KRF/KSF are UL approved as per file no. E205350. Cu terminals of type KR/KS, KRF/KSF are for stranded and flexible copper cable, class 2 and 5 as per IEC 60228 and has a work area of 1-500 mm2.
Elpress KR/KS, KRF/KSF terminals agree with DNV's rules for classification of ships and Det Norske Veritas' Offshore Standards. The terminals are approved for installations on ships and mobile "offshore" units.
Elpress terminals for Al cable are made of solid and pure aluminium 99.7%. We produce Al terminals of type AS and AK, but also largely customised terminals or connectors larger than 1200 mm2.
Elpress AlCu terminals for Al cable are made of solid material and with friction welding. This method means that aluminium is joined with copper. This is done when aluminium is rotated towards copper under pressure and it is the method that provides the best connection between Al and Cu.
